Where to stay in Amsterdam with three adult grandchildren

My husband and I are planning a trip with our three adult grandchildren in the spring and need a centrally located place to stay in Amsterdam where we could get two rooms that would each sleep three people, but not break the bank. Accommodations for five adults is a challenge. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

hey hey pauline
amsterdam is expensive, been ther twice but was split 4 ways. what does not "break the bank" mean in euros? adult grandchildren means over 21 and will they be sharing costs?
first time we rented large apt on one on the canals, was fabulous. company no longer around after pandemic.
second time we rented houseboat near the jordaan area.
if i see something in my bookmarks i'll send you.

When are you going? What is your budget? You can search on Booking.com for properties by number of people and rooms (e.g., you can search for 5 people and two rooms). If you're going during peak tulip time things will be expensive regardless. I did a dummy search for mid-May and Hotel des Artes popped up, which is where I stayed in 2022. They have a family room that would fit you all, but also separate double and triple rooms. It is a midrange choice with a decent breakfast, right on the tram line.

One thing to keep in mind. If you do a family room for 5, you will all be sharing one bathroom. If you get two rooms, that will help immensely with saving time each day. We have traveled with 5 overseas and stayed at numerous family rooms and we really had to juggle the shower situation. So just something to think about.

Renovated not long ago and tram is 2 blocks away, that goes into the city center, through Museum area.
Train station LELYLAAN is a short bus ride away # 62
Have Breakfast here Pancake Corner, reviews aren't great, but we have eaten there 6 times, foods good, and only about 12 euro per person, you wont find a cheaper place to eat, place is clean, service so so, nothing fancy.
