Where to see fields of Tulips

We are travelling late April have 1 day in Amsterdam and 2 days in The Hague. Where is the closest place to The Hague to see fields of tulips, we dont want to spend hours going around Keukenhof gardens as that isnt of interest however it will be tulip season and would like to see fields of flowers instead.

Is there a point between Amsterdam and The Hague we could hop off the train and walk a short distance?

Or an area close to The Hague we could visit easily?

You could always visit the Skagit Valley in Western Washington state. More tulips here than in Holland, I believe.

The tulip fields are south of Haarlem and the railway goes right through them. The only station which is close enough for a walk is Hillegom. Take the intercity train from Amsterdam to Haarlem, and change there to a so-called Sprinter train to Leiden or Den Haag. You are allowed to interrupt your journey, so you can do it on your ticket from Amsterdam to Den Haag.
