I'll be in the Netherlands over Easter. I've been advised to avoid Amsterdam on the the weekend, because it will be crazy crowded. What about Kuekenhof Gardens? If I visit on Saturday or Sunday, will it be terribly worse than any other day? Any other towns/sights to visit on the weekend that won't be overly crowded? I am staying in Haarlam and will be there Wednesday-Tuesday. Thanks!

The Easter weekend will be one of the busiest days for the Keukenhof (mind the spelling) with the holidays in Belgium and especially Germany.
As long as you stay away from those tourist hot-spots like the Zaanse Schans and the triangle Volendam-Edam-Marken it can be busy, but not in an unpleasant way. From Haarlem (mind the spelling) half the country can be reached within 1 or 1,5 hrs.

Agree with tofromlieden; it will be busy but not overwhelming.
Try Keukenhof on Thursday.
