Trying to decide whether to put this city on our trip. Are there sights worth a visit? Great beer/food?
We only had an afternoon on our way between two stops, but we stopped there to visit the zoo.
The modern architecture is a big draw. Or get on a river boat and go to Kinderdijk to see the 19 famous windmills all in their original locations, beautiful.
I was going to recommend the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum (art), but it appears the museum is currently closed for renovation--though overflow items can apparently be seen at its storage facility. Rotterdam is a city with a lot of museums, so it's definitely worth doing some Googling to see whether there's something there that's aligned with you interests.
If you are interested in modern architechture, Rotterdam is a great place to go. Not just bikes, an urbanist youtube channel made a video about the city about a year ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22ovt1EMULY

Architecture in general.
Binnenrotte Market, for groceries on Tuesday and Saturday mornings.
Walking along the river, appreciating the views.
