of them available.
Download Rick Steves app on your phone and take his Amsterdam City Walk, the Red-Light District Walk and the Jordaan Walk.

We did the free walking tour with freedam tours. It's a good introduction to Amsterdam. It's tip based. If you liked the tour, you pay whatever you think is appropriate.
I also recommend taking a canal boat tour. We liked Those Damn Boat guys, but our AirBNB host liked "Lovers Tours".
We did the Sandesman tour which is also free but the guide expects tips. We thought it was a very good.
We also did the These Dam Boat Guys and enjoyed it immensely.
Please be aware that these so-called free walking tours have a bad reputation in the Netherlands. The city of Amsterdam is cracking down on them for evading taxes and using the free public space to make money. The situation has gotten so out of hand with huge groups blocking busy roads, gawking (and worse) at the ladies behind the windows in the RLD that the city of Amsterdam had to implement a whole set of rules. See here; https://www.amsterdam.nl/en/business/rules-permit-tours/
If you want to take a guided walk please book directly with a license guide instead of via a company that actually charges the guides a fee to work for them. Yes you read that right!
For those that don’t know how Sandeman and the likes work; you sign up for your walk with the company, the guide is assigned to your group by the company, the guide needs to pay a fixed amount per participant to the company, you pay the guide a tip. If you don’t tip or tip less than the fee, the guide actually loses money. On top of that, the company doesn’t employ the guides so they don’t pay wage tax, social security nor do they have to pay anything if the guide can’t work due to illness.
Like I said, please consider using a company that employs their guides and pays them a decent wage.
