Virtual Vermeer

If you have the Google Arts and Culture app on your phone (or if you have any smartphone with a camera), you can now view all of Vermeer's work in a virtual museum.

To be honest, it's not the greatest way to see images of all his paintings. I much prefer doing it on the larger screen of my desktop computer. (And even better is to go to all the museums where his paintings are on display.)

But it's a pretty neat concept.

Lane, thanks for starting this thread. I was fortunate enough to be able to go see some Vermeer originals two months ago, including Girl With A Pearl Earring, View of Delft (and then went down the rail 20 minutes to Delft and saw the same view, not much different as in the painting), and other Vermeers at the Mauritzhuis (The Hague) and the Rijksmuseum (Amsterdam). Nothing can really replicate the experience of standing in front of the original, being able to see the brush strokes and other techniques that were used by the master; so I sometimes buy the $50 large format books and also view art on an over-sized computer monitor at the museum's website.
