Our granddaughter just sent us a link to an article about The Fish Doorbell in Utrecht. It’s not mentioned in the RS Amsterdam/Netherlands guidebook.
Just wondering if anyone has been to see it, if it is within walking distance from the train station.
We will be in Amsterdam as well as Leiden, so it is possible for us to make the trip to Utrecht.
Thanks for any help on the Fish Doorbell.
The Fish Doorbell is an online sight/attraction. There isn’t really anything to see at the actual location.
The website https://visdeurbel.nl/en/ has all the info, including the location of the lock (“sluis” in Dutch) that can be opened if a viewer of the live stream presses the fish doorbell on the website. The lock/sluis in question itself is just like any other lock in a river and the water is so murky that you can’t even see the fish.

Thank you so much for responding to my question. We’ll be staying in both Amsterdam and Leiden…so it would have been possible to go to Ultrect for the Fish Doorbell, especially since our granddaughter sent us the link.
But your answer reassured me that it is not necessary to change our plans.
