Uber taxi or train Haarlem to Amsterdam day tour

My husband and I are very new to using transit. We are staying in Haarlem but have to meet up for a day tour in Amsterdam at 8 am on a Sunday morning ...( Tour Meeting Point: at the bus stop in De Ruijterkade 151-153, (close to the Aloha Bowling in the riverside)

I have a disability and I'm not a fast walker so need a little extra time.

Does it make more sense for us to book an Uber to get to this tour meeting point on time, or book a taxi or to try the train tram system??

We won't have any time pressures getting back to Haarlem in the late afternoon so have more flexibility for transportation.

Thx

I hope Dutch_traveler or others with excellent knowledge jump in. Considering all the other variables a taxi/uber from Haarlem maybe gets you from point to point with the least amount of hassle.

With that said, the train is very convenient, but the Amsterdam station is quite large and requires a bit of walking to get to the exit. I'd definitely take a taxi from the train station to your meet up point.

De Ruijterkade 151-153 is about 1500 ft (~1/4 mile) from the east side, Ij side of Amsterdam Centraal station. If you don't have any luggage, should not be bad, but you be the judge of that. If you arrived at Amsterdam Centraal at 7 am, you should have plenty of time to get there at a slow pace.

Follow signs to the Ijplein ferry, then keep walking, It is just ahead.

Good thing is that early taxis and Ubers are allowed in the city center (until 11am). However, some bits are pedestrians only. Where are you staying in Haarlem? That may determine your travel option more.

Trains will be running early morning Sunday. You can use the NS or 9292 app to check public transport options including walking distance, time and routes. Do consider you will need to get to Haarlem Centraal train station as well.

If the walking distance to Haarlem Centraal is inconvenient, you may want to prebook a taxi to either get to the Haarlem station or you final destination. I am not too sure about the availability of ad hoc Ubers in Haarlem that early on a Sunday. It could be too quiet for them. You can check in advance by just looking what is available on a Sunday morning in the Uber app to get a feel.

I would pre-book a taxi from your hotel in Haarlem to the train station. At that early hour, good luck trying to find an uber.
Then take the train from Haarlem to Amsterdam Central Station.
Your meeting point is walkable from Amsterdam Central station (900 meters or 0.56 mile, a 15 minute walk) but you could take a taxi or uber from the Amsterdam Train station to the meeting point.
