Heading to Amsterdam next month and can't seem to get a definitive answer on the type of converter needed. I saw where it may be a Type "C" or could be a Type "F". I own the latter. Does anyone know with certainty? Thanks in advance. NS
With certainty it's a Type F

But quite a few gadgets are sold with Type C plugs on them because a Type C plug will fit in a Type F outlet. In the parts of Europe ive been to that use a a Type F ive seen lamps and things with C plugs, but never seen a C outlet, but suppose it can happen.
You are talking about adapters, not converters. These are very different things. You would only use adapters in Europe for devices/appliances that are either 240v single voltage or are multi/dual voltage.
A C adapter is not grounded. An F adapter is grounded.
An F adapter can be used in a C outlet, provided your device doesn't require grounding. A C adapter can be used in an F outlet.
