Can anyone recommend a tulip tour/ride/bus that picks up and drops at a smaller city outside of Amsterdam? We would like to stay outside of Amsterdam and also don't want a long bus ride from Amsterdam. Thinking somewhere around Haarlem? We welcome any recommendations for a city out that way as well. Bonus if we can reach it by train from Amsterdam (that is where we will fly into and will stay for 2 nights or so).

An option is the so-called Keukenhof Express Bus (public transport) from Leiden and Haarlem that go the Keukenhof, twice per hour. You can get combo tickets from the Keukenhof website when released (not yet though).

Both Haarlem and Leiden are easily accessible from Amsterdam by train.
