Travelling to north sea shore...any chance to get a sun tan?

So my wife and I are going to tour Europe starting from Scotland and going south to Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. I love hiking and not a big beach person, but my wife really cares about her skin tone. She was pushing for us to go to Spain but I convinced her to stick to the aforementioned countries and have more time for exploration. Now I am curious if there is any chance we can hit the North Sea shore in Netherlands and whether she can sunbathe there? Maybe go to Zaandvoort? As a consolation I am going to buy a bottle of one of the best tanning lotions so in case we miss out on sunbathing she is not too upset.

If you're from Maryland, you may find the North Shore beaches rather similar to the south Jersey Shore. Dunes, wide sandy beaches and beach-frnot promenades. Whether or not your wife can get a tan will obviously depend on the weather, but on warm sunny days, you'll see no lack of sun bathers.

My personal favorite beach towns are De Haan in Belgium and Domberg in the Netherlands.

The sand at Zandvoort is soft and plentiful. The beach can also get very very full on top sunny summer Saturdays. It is really quite a lot of fun, very easy to get to from Amsterdam and Haarlem by the train which goes right to a couple of hundred metres from the beach.

Your wife may find that she may need a little more sun cream than she may normally use at home.

Beaches on the Dutch coast have rather wide sand strips due to geology. They however are pretty much deserted between October and early April.
