Traveling with kids

Hello ...
I am a mom traveling with two boys 12 and 15 we are traveling from 4th of July to 9th of July this is our first visit to Netherland and I would love to make it so special for my boys. So I am only interested of places for them only.

The flight tickets consumed most of our budget since we are traveling from faraway and there is no direct flights.

I am so overwhelmed with all information out there in the internet. I need to find a good place to stay in. I was happy when I found "Bed and Breakfast Miljonairstyle" then I read the advice that was written on this forum when the owner of the B&B refers customer to another one in "Billie Holidaystraat 45" and worned us from falling into this scam. So poor me is starting from scratch again.
My hotel budget is 90-120 euro/night. Is there away I can find something family friendly, decent and safe?

I am also looking for best attraction to visit in these 6 days 5 nights. I highly appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you all

Try outside Amsterdam to get better value for money. Leiden is a good alternative. A lively historical city, close to many good places around, Amsterdam at 35 mins and Schiphol airport at 20 mins, all on very frequent trains. All visitors love it.
I found one bang in the city centre. Perfect for the boys: literally in the shadow of a medieval church on one side and the remnants of a pre-medieval fort on the other. With 2 mins walking you're on one of the major canals in the city, venue for the crowded Saturday market. It's 10 minutes from the railway station.
This one also looks alright. Also in the historical centre, at the crossroads of a bunch of canals, and a few minutes walk from one of the remaining city gates. A 15 minutes walk from the railway station.
Booking.com will undoubtedly have further possibilities.

oh dear you have left it late.. Amsterdam is so expensive that the cheaper rooms go fast months in advance.

I found one that can accomadate you.. you must book as two adults and one child.. a triple..

XO Hotels Blues Square - 798 euros for five nights.. in a family room. it is a 15 minute tram ride in to central city..

If you can spend two or three times your budget you may find something closer.. but honestly.. its just so late and your budget is very small for three people for amsterdam..

I agree looking outside is best idea for better prices.

To Pat,

You are right I am so late. We were thinking of visiting Istanbul but then we decided that Amsterdam is so much fun to visit.
I will follow tonfromleiden and look outside.

Thank you again for taking the time to reply to me.

Staying outside Amsterdam is so much better, especially with kids. Not only cheaper, but also no pickpockets, no drunks, no Asian coach parties, no selfie-taking teenagers.

tonfromleiden..

You are absolutely right and I did find an apartment in Leiden for 1/3 of the price. The place seems extremely nice 5 nights for 650 euros which is woooow. Unfortunately it is 24 minutes in train and with my 12 years old boy this is going to be hard for me to go back if he got tired. On the other hand I found the following deals
Chasse, Aalder and Park Plaza Victoria almost the same price maybe Park Plaza is a little bit pricier than the others.
Have you heard of any of them? Do you have any recommendations? I read everything written by customers but they are all conflicted with each others!!!

Thank you
