I'm meeting my spouse in Vlissingen but flying to Brussels. What is the best way and/or resource to travel to Vlissingen from the Brussels airport without a car? I'll only be there 7 days. Thank you.
The train is best. From the airport, it looks to be either 2 hours 40 minutes with 2 changes, or 3 hours forty minutes with one change.
You can look at tickets here: https://www.b-europe.com/EN it is the official Belgian international route site. Search for "Brussels Airport" as your starting point, you do not need to head into Brussels.
Important to note, though specific times are shown, and you indicate a time in buying the ticket, you are free to take any train heading that direction, both in Belgium and in the Netherlands, so no need to estimate how long to get through immigration, collect bags, etc.
There is another option if you have to relay completely on public transport, but the one Paul suggests is the best. You can for instance take the train to Bruges, from there bus 42 to Breskens and finally the ferry to Vlissingen. But in case the ferry is for some reason out of service you will have a problem.
Train to Ghent is an option in case your spouse has a car and can meet you there at St Pieters railway station.
Thank you so much for the response. I'll check these out.
