Transportation option and cost from Amsterdam Airport to Delft, then to surrounding cities

We will be arriving in Amsterdam on Sept 9/16 and have booked a hotel in Delft. We will like to travel by train or bus to surrounding cities for 2 days as we are booked for a river cruise, boarding the ship on Sept 12 in Amsterdam.

Your friend here is Rome2Rio.

You can get a direct train from Schiphol airport to Delft: https://www.rome2rio.com/s/Schiphol-Station/Delft.

The easiest way to get from Delft to The Hague is by tram, though you can also take the train: https://www.rome2rio.com/s/Delft/The-Hague. If you take the tram, you can get off right in the historic center of The Hague.

And you can take the train from Delft to Rotterdam: https://www.rome2rio.com/s/Delft/Rotterdam

Use Rome2Rio also if you want to find your way to anywhere else in the Netherlands, and also to get to the cruise terminal.

It's all very easy and straightforward.

Assuming you arrive at Schiphol airport, you have a regular direct Intercity service to Delft, leaving every 15 mins or so. No need for complicated things like changing in The Hague for a tram. Train schedule at www.ns.nl/en/journeyplanner/#/
Don't confuse this Intercity service with the Intercity Direct, which goes directly to Rotterdam and further!
