Hello,
Thinking of staying in Driehuis in October, am wondering about transport tickets from Centraal Station- is it advised to buy a multi day card as we will want to visit Amsterdam and is it 30 minutes away from the city by direct train?? Is Haarlem closer to Amsterdam than Driehuis? Thank you

Separate tickets are about the same price as a 3-day Amsterdam and Region Travel Ticket (EUR 36,50), which has the advantage of being valid for all kinds of transport in the city and region.
It is indeed a 30-min ride with a half-hourly direct train, going via Haarlem (mind the spelling!).

Yes: it is on the map of the travel area (the station is on the railway line north of Haarlem, the last one before the canal).
Driehuis itself might not be very exciting, but it has the agreeable country estate of Beeckesteyn.
