Transiting Shipol, Tests Required?

From the US to Greece, what if any tests are required? KLM's website does not explicitly say and can't find anything on NL govt sites. TIA

Thanks for that. Maybe I'm being my usual too paranoid self but that does not specifically answer my question. I'm not entering the Netherlands only transiting. You might think I'm being overly fastidious and that if the Dutch aren't asking for any testing to enter than it would be the same to transit but that isn't always the case. That by the way only applies to those traveling within the EU, i. e Schegen Area. For example the UK was doing just that allowing people to enter untested but transiting passengers were required to have been tested.
The more I read at that site the less I know. No where does it state untested 3rd party travelers are either allowed to enter or transit untested. Same with CDG airport. Really frustrating. On top of that as far as I can see, the USA is not considered a "safe" country.

Maybe this will answer your question:
https://www.government.nl/topics/c/coronavirus-covid-19/visiting-the-netherlands-from-abroad/exemptions-to-the-entry-ban/eu-entry-ban-exemption-categories ? As far as I can tell, if you’re fully vaccinated or have proof of recovery you do not to show a test travelling from the USA to Greece via the Netherlands. If you’re not fully vaccinated nor can you show proof of recovery, then there is a EU ban for you and as a transit passenger you must show documents that you’re allowed to travel to a third Schengen country.

@ ajmlf
Yes, I reluctantly agree. "Unvaxxed" US passport holders are NOT allowed entry nor allowed to transit when arriving from outside the Schengen Area. Whether the EU even recognizes US vaxxed status is questionable imho.

Coincidentally I just checked Delta's flights and all direct flights from the US i. e. no transiting AMS or CDG airports are sold out and the only remaining cheap flights transit through said airports. Looks like some people are aware of the problem.

@ajmf Thanks for your help by the way but I have say the option to prove recovery doesn't even exist for US passport holders.

"No entry to the Netherlands based on proof of recovery from another country.

Proof of recovery from a country outside the EU Digital COVID Certificate system is not valid for travel to the Netherlands."

I can see that it will not be easy to assure you and that this is a great source of worry for you. There is another option. Simply get a test and have it available so that you don't have to be anxious about whether they are going ask for it or not. You want to be able to enjoy your trip, not worry about it.

@ Carol
Thanks for your interest but what you suggest is not operable. Those two EU airports DO NOT recognize any tests from the US. It's either direct flights or no flight at all. YMMV

Just got it from the horse's mouth, i.e. KLM customer service.

Transiting Shipol is not possible without proper vaccine documentation regardless of holding any type of tests results.

Ahh.. The information that you were not vaccinated would have been helpful in responding to your post. I hope you find a solution that works for you.

We are in the same boat, we chose to not transit AMS on the way to Greece. We would have to have paperwork from the Greece authorities stating we are allowed to enter another Schengen country, per the Netherlands website, to transit AMS on way to EU country. We are newly recovered but do not have EU tests to prove positive tests obviously. We did buy tickets through AMS on the way back to US. Netherlands website says we can transit through AMS if we have tickets to a non Schengen country. Have to stay in international area and less than 48 hours, hope we don't miss the flight and if we do that the hotels inside the airport are accessible to us. We bought very expensive economy tickets as it is a last minute trip for us.
