Train Travel on King's (Queen's) Day

We were planning on staying in Amsterdam this April and noticed that our departure date was King's day. After reading online about the event and problems with train travel on that day, we decided to stay in Haarlem instead. We are now concerned with whether we should book our departure from Haarlem through Rotterdam or take a chance on going through Amsterdam on King's Day. Some of the info implies that Amsterdam Centraal will be closed on King's Day or, at least a total zoo. Going through Rotterdam adds 2 hours to a 4 hour trip. We are heading east to Celle, Germany.

Thanks, Tator

Haarlem is also affected by the huge flow of travelers to Amsterdam Centraal.

Which ongoing train from Amsterdam are you planning on riding?

We were looking at the 8:31 or 10:31 to Amersfoort. The large amount of travelers to Amsterdam was one reason we were thing about routing through Rotterdam.
