I was looking at purchasing two roundtrip tickets from Amsterdam to Cologne.
We plan on doing this for one day. Is it easier to buy the tickets from Centeral Station in Amsterdam. There seemed to be different ooptions on line including numerous stations. Any tips?

It is normally cheaper to buy the tickets in advance, Buying them on the day you pay a higher price.
I would recommend buying from the German railways website (bahn.de) and getting print-at-home tickets.
When using the German railways website, be careful to spell names correctly, "Amsterdam Centraal" and Köln HBf".

Deutsche Bahn runs a direct train between Amsterdam and Frankfurt a few times a day. It stops in Köln along the way. This is the one you want.
