I will be flying into Amsterdam & going directly to Brugge by train.
Not sure how/where to get the train, tickets, etc.. Could someone please advise?
Thanks.
You can buy them on the Belgian rail site
https://www.b-europe.com/EN
But you might want to wait until you get there in case your flight is cancelled
We did the same last year. We purchased our train tickets in Amsterdam. We were glad we waited because we arrived in a rain storm and train schedules were affected. The process of buying was easy with a string of ticket windows. We transferred in Antwerp.
Use the train station at AMS Schiphol, there are direct trains to either Brussels or Antwerp and change there for Bruges. Definitely buy your ticket at the station or you can buy a semi-flexible at various sites such as loco2.com or trainline.eu, in case your flight is cancelled or delayed.
Thanks for the quick, spot on responses.
Feeling much better about the process. We did the train trip a couple years ago but not from the airport.
Love these forums.
All the above advice is valid for the high-speed Thalys service.
Tickets for the trip with the Intercity Brussels service are valid for all trains that day. It takes only some 45 mins longer than the Thalys, and goes every hour. Buy them in advance (at the website of the Belgian or Dutch railways) and you don't have to worry about the train about to depart while you're standing in the queue at the window.
