Tips for flying back to States from Basel via Amsterdam Schiphol airport?

Hi, is there a way to see ahead of time where (gate/terminal) the KLM cityhopper flight from Basel will land and how far you have to go for the connecting Delta flight to the U.S.? We are flying back from Basel on 12/24: BSL-AMS-DTW. We are on a Viking Christmas Market cruise, and flying nonstop going from Detroit-Amsterdam which I love! But coming back from Basel we have layover in Ams.

I'm just wanting to get a "lay of the land" before we come back so I know better how to navigate the AMS airport.
Thanks!

You can look at the Schiphol website and see where KLM flights from Basel
are coming in. But, KLM is obviously the largest carrier at Schiphol, so they
have many gates, and I doubt that flights always come to the same gate/concourse.

I'm pretty sure you will need to go from the Europe/Schengen side of the
airport to the international side, so there will a passport check and a decent
walk no matter what.

There is no way to tell what gate your flights will use until just before flight time or just before arrival.

I've had many flight where when we took off we were scheduled at one gate and actually arrived at another. And with departures seen gates change within an hour of flight time. Last month I had a gate change five minutes before boarding. (It was only two gates over.)

The best you can do is possibly see general areas for your flights.

On your return, in Amsterdam, you will go through exit immigration for Schengen.

BTW, on 12/24, expect the airport to be very busy.

Todays Delta flight to Detroit is leaving from gate E2. The airport is roughly divided in half, with one side for flights to/from Schengen destinations, and the other to/from non-Schengen destinations. So you will land on the Schengen side, then go through immigration and get your passport stamped for exiting Schengen at the control point between the two halves of the airport. Then proceed to your departure gate.
