We arrive ( my husband and myself) in Amsterdam at 0840 am via Delta. We leave Amsterdam at 11:15 (to Budapest) via KLM. Does that leave us enough time to make the connecting flight ? Then we arrive in Budapest at 1:10 pm. How long will it take (approx) to get thru customs in Budapest, and on our way to our hotel ? I'm trying to get a sense of planning for our arrival day in Budapest. Thanks very much for any input.

I can't answer your question for time to go through immigration/customs in Amsterdam, but I can tell you that since both of these countries are in the Schengen zone you will not go through immigration/customs again in Budapest.
Usually time through immigration/customs at any airport depends on the time on day of arrival, the number of other international flights arriving at the same time, and the staffing levels of the airport. I am sure people who regularly transit Amsterdam will be able to give you an estimate, however.

Once it was a zoo getting thru Passport Control at AMS...took about an hour. Another time...same arrival time (about 8:30 AM) we went thru in about 15 minutes...so it's difficult to give a straight answer...depends on the day, time, weather, number of agents on duty...too many variables.
