What to do in The Hague? We only have 2 days. We've been to Delft and done Amsterdam already.
Thank for any suggestions.
Our personal choice, for which we day-tripped to the Hague from Amsterdam, is the Escher Museum, followed by, if the weather is at all decent, Scheveningen and its beach, a quick tram ride from the center..
Escher Museum is great fun, the Mesdag is unique. Definitely go out Scheveningen (maybe for sunset - walk out on the pier) to see how much it still looks like the Mesdag. Skip the Parliament tour! Madurodam is fun for adults as well as kids. See the Dutch masters at Mauritshuis, after its recent renovation.
We really enjoyed Madurodam and the Escher exhibit - we did it as a day trip from Amsterdam, so that was all we had time for.
Mauritshuis is the number one attraction in The Hague. They have Vermeer's most popular painting--Girl with a Pearl Earring. They also have some great works by Rembrandt and Hals--and it's must less crowded than Amsterdam's musuems. If you are a political junkie, you can tour the Dutch Parliament with an audioguide in English. The beach is also a treat.
