Say lots of good reviews for this place from independent travels, but no
details on how to get there via taxi or public transport, I and my travel buddy will have about 2 bags a piece, so walking with them for will be an adventure.

There is no convenient bus stop and according to the Dutch Railways the nearby station has no regular taxi service nor does the somewhat larger station in the centre of Soest.
Their website, however, says it's 600 metres from the railway station. Even with two bags that less than 10-min walk won't be the »adventure« you imagine.
Take care you take the train to station Soest Zuid and not Soest.

600 / 1600 = 0,375 mile to be exact.
