Does anyone have any thoughts or recommendations for staying on a house boat while in Amsterdam? How would we go about findong one to rent.

We spent a week each in two different houseboats this past June and loved it. We found the first boat on
www.rentahouseboat.com. "Houseboat in Old Center". It was on a canal right in the old town, complete with swans floating by. The owner was very communicative and helpful.
The second we found at www.luckypiper.com. This was further out, but a nice break from the hectic city center. Very close to public transportation and easy enough to walk into town center if you are fit. Excellent kitchen and a great deck to sit out on the canal. Swans here too. This owner was less communicative, but very helpful once we arrived at the houseboat.

Look on airbnb.com. They have lots of places to rent, and numerous houseboats. We loved our time staying on a great houseboat in the Jordaan a couple summers ago.
