We have 7 days + 7 nights to spend in Belgium and the Netherlands in late spring. We're a middle-aged couple, traveling sans the kids.
We're thinking of either two nights in Brussels and five in Amsterdam, or three nights in Brussels and four in Amsterdam. Any advice?
We have family to see, briefly, in Brussels but plan a day trip to Bruges. We also want to spend at least one of our Amsterdam days seeing a nearby town, perhaps Delft?
We are wide open to suggestions. And FYI I posted a similar message in the Belgium channel.
Thanks!
Alan, Arlington VA
I would do 3 Brussels + 4 Amsterdam, otherwise there will be no family time if you go to Bruges during a 2-night stay. You might not have time for a day trip out of Amsterdam, but there is no need to plan those anyway. You can decide to go to Delft, Haarlem or wherever on the day.
What does late spring mean? In order to give you specific advice it would help to know the exact dates when you’re here. For instance to tell you whether or not you can still see the tulips.
It would also help to know a little bit more about your interests and your likes and dislikes. Without any specifics it’s a bit difficult to give advice.
We'll be there approximately June 5 through 12. Our tastes are almost cliched -- Iconic scenary, charming villages, stunning beauty and restorative relaxation will do just fine.
