I'd like to buy a SIM kaart for my iPhone when I make my trip for a few voice calls and GPS navigation while in Nederland.
What's the best place to get one without getting ripped off? Someone mentioned walking around the Rokin area to find one.

Will I have to roam the city to find this?
As I said , they are everywhere ! I have no idea why you think you have to start " roaming the city " .Any shopping area will have them . In Amsterdam ' s Kalverstraat , which is the main shopping street and located between the Dam square and Munt (MINT ) , there are at least 4 , and many shopping areas have several also. You do not get " ripped off " !
