Side Trips from The Hague

We are planning to visit Amsterdam and The Hague in late March. We would like to take several side trips from The Hague- Delft, Leiden and perhaps Gouda. Unsure how many nights we should book our hotel? Most of the tours I briefly noted all originated from Amsterdam. Any information would be great. TIA

Both Delft and Leiden are a 12-18 minute train ride from Den Hague Centraal train station. Delft is quite small and can easily be seen in a few hours.
Leiden can take an entire day to see — even longer if the museums at Leiden University are of interest. Leiden’s Street Market days are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8am-5pm

I agree Delft and Leiden are good day trips from Den Hague. I suggest a fully day rather than just a few hours in Delft but maybe because I was dodging thunder lightning and downpours part of the day I was there. I have not been to Roterdam but it is another easy train ride day trip. I believe the cheese market in Gouda is only on Thursdays April through August so you might want to check if there are enough other things of interest to you to go in March.
