I once bought a pair of edible panties from the museum gift shop, and they gave me a terrible stomach ache. It came as no suprise after I read the packaging, they were made of rubber.
Have been to Amsterdam multiple times and still haven't visited any of these museums - they just didn't seem like they would be as good as the (now closed) one in the Pigalle neighborhood of Paris, and I've been to the MoS in NYC and found it kind of a waste of money. However, after seeing the Dutch documentary film "Meet the Fokkens" we did go on a walking tour with Amsterdam Red Light District Tours which was led by The Fokken Twins (elderly twin sisters who worked as prostitutes in the Red Light District for 50 years). It was a really fun tour and very interesting talking to the twins about how the neighborhood has evolved over the decades. They know absolutely everyone in the District and even though I had already been through the neighborhood a number of times on prior trips, I learned a whole lot more about it from The Fokken Twins. Highly recommend spending your money on the tour.
I guess it depends on your personal disposition. My wife and I went to the one on Damrak, my wife beforehand was not enthused, but afterwords we both would say that it was worth the effort. I would say that all of them are similar, if you have an open mind you can get some value.
