What is the best way to get from the airport to a Rijksmuseum Area hotel (Bilderberg)? We're traveling with a 4 month old and not bringing our own car seat.
There is a bus: From Schiphol Amsterdam Airport: bus 197 (Rijksmuseum bus stop). You might want to Google map the address of your hotel and check for the location of the bus stop as well. We were wimps and took a taxi. Pricey. We should've taken the bus.

Your hotel should be able to tell you exactly what to do and where to go. If it is the Bilderberg Hotel Jan Luyken, you will be one street over from where we rented an apartment on P.C. Hooftstraat above Tiffany's last year.
It's a great area complete with a grocery store within easy walking distance -- AH on Van Baerlestraat next to the Stedelijk Museum and on the edge of the Museumplein. Keep going closer on this link -- http://www.bilderberg.nl/uk/hotels/hotel-jan-luyken/route/ -- from the hotel website and you will see your hotel location and can move around to see where the AH is.
To add to Lo's otherwise comprehensive post, "AH" is Albert Heijn, a large Dutch grocery store chain.
A taxi/car transfer will be the easiest door-to-door option. Expensive though.
A second best would be to take a train from Schiphol to Amsterdam Centraal and then a taxi to the door of your hotel.
