We are looking at options to travel to Scheveningen in June from Centraal Station in Amsterdam. We are staying at the Boulevard Hotel right on the beach. From what I can determine, it looks like the best option is to take a train to Den Haag then a tram to Scheveningen. Is this the best option? Thanks in advance.
What is best is very subjective. For some people, the best would be to have a private driver wait for them at the airport to drive them directly to the hotel. Others are happy to take public transport.
It also depends on when you plan to do this. From April 4th until yesterday morning, the train line between Leiden and The Hague was blocked because a fatal train incident caused major damage to the train tracks and other rail infrastructures. You wouldn’t have been able to train from Schiphol to The Hague, so this option would definitely not be best.
Under normal circumstances, the route you mentioned is the most direct way to travel from Schiphol to your hotel by public transport. Keep an eye out though on public transport planners to see if anything changes.
for me, that's the way I would get there. In fact, it is what I have done before.
But I haven't looked up exactly where your hotel is relative to the tram stop.
@Dutch_traveler: Thanks for the reminder to check for delays. We ran into rail challenges last year going to Köln from Amsterdam.
@Nigel: I found the tram map online. The hotel is a short walk from the Badhuiskade stop on Line 1.
looks good to go!
Yep we did that todax. Was really easy . Just use the 9292 app or Google maps to work out which tram. I think we took tram 9 from Den Haag Central station to Scheveningen and got off at the Cirkus stop.
Meg: Did you have to purchase a ticket or just use a chip enabled credit card to tap in/off?
