The Keukenhof website contains directions for getting there from a number of places, but Rotterdam is not listed. So, good people, what is the best way to get there from Rotterdam? Thanks.
One way is Take the 30 minute train to Amsterdal Schipol and outside to the right catch the bus going to Keukenoff. You will see signs and a queue as the busses leave as each fills up. Buy the ticket bus combo in advance online if you choose this way of getting there.
There is more than one way

Another option would be via Leiden. Takes about the same time as via Schiphol. And you could visit Leiden afterwards.
You can buy a combiticket via https://www.discoverholland.com/DayTrip/69/Keukenhof for 35 euros. DH is not a 3rd party reseller, but a shop from Dutch Railways.
You can plan your journey via 9292.nl/en
The bus to the Keukenhof leaves just in front of Leiden railway station. You can't miss it.
Thought I just pop in and tell you how it went. We took the train from Rotterdam Blaak to R. Centraal, where we transferred to the train to Leiden Centraal. There you catch a dedicated Keukenhof bus, which runs only during their season. It's non-stop and drops you right beside the building. It's not slotted with all the other buses, it's off to the right as you look at their front ends. It's difficult to miss, as it's decorated in tulips. We went on Wednesday, had a beautiful day, that was shortened a little by the weather. That was okay though, because we saw just about all of it before the rain started and the temperature started to drop. Reversing the process got us back to the apartment an hour later. It was a good day. :-) But then, when is a day starring so much beauty not?
So thanks for the answers.
