We will be in Rotterdam for the day on a cruise stop. We have never been to the Netherlands. I'm getting a bit frustrated because most of the information on Rotterdam tries to send you to Amsterdam or Delft. While I would love to see these places, I am interested in seeing Rotterdam this time. I can't find a self-guided walking tour on the RS site. I don't even see one in his Netherlands guidebook! I am wondering if anyone has found a self-guided tour itinerary like Rick usually does. The places that I have found that are interesting to us are the Cube Houses, Erasmus Bridge, Markthal, Basilica, Euromast (maybe), Delfshaven. I am trying to decide if adding a water taxi ride would be a good idea or not here. (Especially as we are coming in on a cruise ship.) If you have any stops to add, that would be great. We are not into art museums. We do appreciate architecture. I am not totally against the idea of a guided tour. I have learned the value of a tour guide over the years. But most of the guided tours are not working well timewise. If you know of a walk up one (like the free walking tours) that would be appreciated also. Thank you.
Tim Tendrick was our wonderful RS Belgium & Holland tour guide. When not leading a RS tour he does independent tours. Rotterdam is home, and does he love Rotterdam! If he's available, he'd give you a wonderful day tour. You can reach him at https://www.guided-by.com/tim/#ask. There's a way to contact him though the site.
We spent 5 days in Rotterdam last September and very much enjoyed the city. The Rotterdam Tourist office has suggestions for walking tours including a self guided one you can download.

There is definitely a walking tour of Rotterdam in the latest Netherlands RS guidebook, in a section on Rotterdam. There is also info on the harbor cruise. I’m not home now, but I can check the page when I get there.
If you like architecture, I definitely recommend Sonneveld House: https://nieuweinstituut.nl/en/projects/huis-sonneveld
I found Rotterdam very easy to get around on our own. Good luck with your visit!
Thank you everyone. It is great to have such a knowledgeable group of people to access!
BarbaraN, I appreciate it. I went to look at the newest book and didn't see it. So I didn't purchase it. I must have missed it. It appeared to be mostly about Amsterdam. Thank you.
Loads of self-guided walking tours on line - I used this one for modern architecture and street art. https://rachelsruminations.com/rotterdam-walking-tour/
