Rotterdam lodging

I am traveling to Rotterdam with my husband and possibly my grown son and his wife. We would like to stay in the central part of the city to have convenient access to public transportation. Any recommendations for a hotel or VRBO lodging which is nice but not expensive? Thanks. Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

A special place to stay is indeed the SS Rotterdam. With a water-cab (I recommend to use this in any case once in Rotterdam: https://www.watertaxirotterdam.nl/) you're in the city centre within a couple of minutes. You could also use public transport or have a short walk with a nice view on the city from the shores of the Maas river and a stop at the fenix Food Factory (http://www.fenixfoodfactory.nl/en/about/)
Other nice places are: Hotel New York (https://hotelnewyork.com/). Former head-quarter of the Holland-Americe Line from where many emigrants left to North-America in search of a better life in the early 1900s. King Kong hostel is a cheap place (they have private rooms) and is known as the best hostel in the Netherlands for 2 years now (http://www.kingkonghostel.com/). It's located in the city centre and one of the best streets in Rotterdam for food & drinks (de Witte de Withstraat).

Enjoy your stay!
