Just a heads up for those intending to visit the Vermeer Exhibition this Spring. I bought a €30 ticket and then got worried that if my flight got delayed, I'd miss my time slot. This almost/did happened to me on a trip to Dresden for the last major Vermeer exhibit (fortunately, they let me in anyway). So I thought I'd be smart and buy a second ticket for the next day in the afternoon in case I arrive late. I considered it a €30 insurance. Smart? Not quite.
There's a better option. For €50, you can buy a "Friends" annual membership that includes "Unlimited and free access to the museum and all exhibitions" and "Visit whenever want (sic) without booking a start time."

So for €10 less than I spent, you can go whenever you want on your trip. Wish I had known ahead of time, but this may help others who are planning on going.
Also, if you haven't already found out, The Girl With a Pearl Earring will only be on display at the exhibit until the end of March—then it returns to The Mauritshuis, where it usually resides. But if you are going after March, The Mauritshuis in The Hague is a short trip by train from Amsterdam. And right up the road from Delft‚ from where Vermeer resided, and where there is an exhibit about the life and times of Vermeer during his life and career concurrent with the Rijksmuseum exhibit.
