Red Light District Tour in Amsterdam

Can anyone give me suggestions for tours to the Red Light
District in Amsterdam? I realize that the tours do not tale you inside the Red Light district, but would like a tour that explains the system.
Thanks!

Honestly? There's enough historical information online about the district without a tour? I don't know as there's a 'system' that needs human explanation aside from what can be read prior to your visit but you might look into what the local PIC can provide (as mentioned by Rick Steves):

I found Oudezijds Achterburgwal canal, that runs through the district, to be one of the prettiest in Amsterdam. See it during the day.

My understanding is that formal escorted tours of the redlight district were officially banned several years ago. As an alternative, the Prostitution Information Center, an NGO that provides support services for sex workers and public information about sex work in Amsterday, has what they call "walk n talks" several times per week. They offer an information session in their storefront and then a self-guided map for you to follow with the option to come back with any questions. They also do lots of information sessions with school groups. When I was there in October 2023, I was the only one in the session, so I actually got an unofficial accompanied walk. It was very interesting and informative. Here is a link
