Lots of things to do, pick what interests you the most and plan your day ... will you be there in the spring? ... if so, definitely consider Keukenhof.

Museums abound, but if you want a different experience, try a food tour. We took one in the Jordaan and it was fabulous. Wonderful food, a little history and culture, and great sites walking around.

Rijksmuseum, went to see in 2019, and 2 times in 2022.
Stunning,,,Fabulous, It would take you a good 1/2 day to see the inside.
Buy tickets for the morning, online, about 20 Euro each, you can not buy them at the museum.
You can also buy them at a Ticket booth outside across the st in the park.
Dont miss this place
The outside of the building is so interesting.
The inside,, It will blow your mind.

If time , anytime of the day, walk through Vondelpark, on the city side of the park, theres a nice area Leidseplein,
from there you can walk to Dam square in about an Hr

“ You might want to learn the difference between cafes and coffee houses too.”

I guess what poster Jack is trying to refer to are coffeeshops, not coffee houses. The name “coffeeshop” is the one and only term used for establishments that sell weed, marihuana etc. They’re very easy to avoid, unless you have lost all sense of smell. Coffeeshops also tend to heavily advertise the product they sell, so a quick look at the outside of a coffeeshop will make it abundantly clear what their main product is. But even if you do accidentally walk into one, it’s not the end of the world.
