I suppose the deafening silence is its own message.
The search goes on.
I think you mean Die Raeckse Hotel, and yes, I've stayed there, but it's been a few years. It's on the low end of the moderately priced hotels, but it's clean and not too far away from the action. If you're on a budget, it's fine.
If you are still looking for a hotel in Haarlem, we stayed at the Niu Dairy.

Reasonable prices. Clean, friendly staff, good breakfast buffet. Relatively new building (2 years maybe?). About a 10 min walk to the central plaza.
Thank you Michelle, but no rooms for the dates I need.
hey hey joe
are you just wanting to stay in haarlem or have you thot of staying in amsterdam? i know it's an expensive city, we've stayed twice. once in a houseboat on jordaan area canal and another in an apartment on prinsengracht. if interested i'll send some sites for you to check out.

GO NINERS
We stayed in Brasss Hotel Suites. Two minute walk to the main square. It is very small and reception was in a building across the lane way, but very easy to find. We had a huge room - Suite Gamba. We ate breakfast out at cafes each day As they had a continental breakfast option but only on Sundays.
THANK YOU AussieNomad!!
Booked a refundable rate ( hoping not to have to use that feature, but have a couple contingencies clear before things get carved in stone) at less than non-refundable rates at most other places. Looks much nicer than many I had looked at.
Thank you to all for your contributions!
