Quiet hotel in Amsterdam

Hi All - staying 3 nights in Amsterdam in September 2022, and looking for a 3-4 star hotel in a quiet neighborhood that is convenient to trams. I'm also seeing suggestions to stay in Haarlem, but a little put off by having to train it into the city every day. Thoughts?

We stayed at Hotel Fita. It is on a side street near the museums, trams and airport bus. We enjoyed it very much and they had the best breakfasts.

My husband and I stayed at the XO Hotel Park West in October, 2019 for two nights before a cruise. It was a bit further out of Amsterdam (the Molenwerf area) but still has an Amsterdam address and if I remember correctly, took about 15 -20 minutes to get to Centraal Station. What we liked especially was the fact that there is a tram stop practically in the parking lot of the hotel. The hotel was super clean and modern and located in a quiet neighborhood. I liked it so well that I made reservations for a return trip which was supposed to have taken place in April 2020, but that was obviously cancelled due to Covid. Hoping for 2022 to try again!

I highly recommend a wonderful hotel called Bij Tijn op de Gracht on the Prinsengracht Canal. There are two gorgeous units, each an entire floor of a canal house. Steep narrow stairs, so if you’re a heavy packer you might look elsewhere. Completely updated, with huge beautiful bathroom and large windows overlooking the street & Canal. Absolutely quiet inside even though on a busy street. You can walk anywhere from here. We were here a week and remember it as one of our favorite places ever. Only two rooms, so you probably need to book well in advance.

Hotel Vondel in the Museum District. 1 block from tram and direct bus stop from the airport. That 1 block takes you back away from the busyness and to a quiet street.

I will be in Amsterdam August 2022 and am researching hotels. This forum is great and I use it a lot before traveling. I have already made good use of it for my trip and certainly plan to continue to use it.

I also suggest booking.com for research and in my case, actually booking. I am already getting a lot of results for August 2022 but more will probably be coming in the next few months. It may be too soon for September 2022 but you can give it a try. The reviews from former guests are very helpful and sometimes very detailed.
