Hi
We dont want to walk too much, and would like a weeks public transportation card. I see such a thing exists. Where can I purchase it ? I prefer not to order online as it requires pick up in another area. Can I buy one at any train or tram or bus station? Any help is greatly appreciated. We already decided on a Museumkart as per RSs recommendation and made reservations under the assumption that we will buy one. ergo we dont want an Iamsterdam Card. TIA
You can buy Amsterdam transport passes at the tourist office in the white building outside of the main entrance of Amsterdam Centraal station, among other places. Have a chip and PIN credit card or cash.

Thanks , but how can I travel from my hotel South of Amsterdam to there?
We stayed outside of the main city at the Hampton by Hilton Arena Blvd. our train station was the Bijlmer Arena Metro Station. We purchase 4 day transit passes at the station. Took five minutes. Good on trains and trams. I had a transit map with came with a guide book I purchased. You can also check the transit routes on line. If you can’t figure it out, email the hotel you are staying at and ask them what is the closest stop. You can also put in your hotel in booking.com. The info under the hotel usually tells you the train or tram stop and what is nearby. I get a lot of info doing this.
I am guessing you will be coming in to Schipohl.
You can purchase an anonymous ov chip kaart at the airport.
