I have tried to reach Albert Walet (recommended in RS Guidebook - 2018) as specializing in history, architecture and water management - but have gotten no response. Can anyone recommend a good guide in Amsterdam for those interested in history and art/architecture?

Amsterdam is very easy to do on your own, you don't need a private guide.
