There are no trains to Giethoorn. Closest train station is Steenwijk and from there you either take a bus, cycle or take a taxi. More information can be found on: https://giethoorn.com/en/how-do-i-get-into-giethoorn/. Giethoorn is really beautiful. I live in the Netherlands but had never been there until may 2020. We went there during the COVID pandemic when traveling wasn’t easy. We rented a small boat and were the only ones in the canals! That will absolutely not be the case now. Giethoorn is very popular with tourists and can be very crowded. I would avoid weekends, the week of April 9- April 16 (Easter Holiday week in neighboring countries) and the last week of April (schoolholiday week in the Netherlands).

Giethoorn is so worth the trip! When I was in the Netherlands last year I took the train to Steenwijk and spent two nights at a B&B. Rented a bike from the bike shop right next to the train station and pedaled my way down to Giethoorn. Found a really neat path (just a green line on the map!) heading back to Steenwijk that was only for walking or bikes.

We took a day bus tour to Giethoorn from Amsterdam. The tour included a boat ride and ample time to walk along the canals. I researched taking the train and then the bus, and it can be done, but the convenience of the guided bus tour was worth the money.

Good morning not sure what you are asking about what company we are using if you mean a tour we are not using any company but doing this trip on our own. Leonard
