Hi, is anyone familiar with Nova hotel? Looks nice but pictures can be deceiving. Also, anyone have any secrets how to find a houseboat for a couple of nights in May near the city center for three people, and is a houseboat worth it? They seem expensive, and I did a four hour search today and no luck. TIA.
hey hey kleinh
been to amsterdam twice and loved it. not familiar with Nova hotel at all.
we (4 long time friends) stayed in an apartment on prinsengracht canal, second time was a houseboat down in the jordaan area.
things have changed alot after pandemic with some websites went poooof, like the two i used. accommodations are small, some only take 2 people, check bed sizes, shared or ensuite bathrooms, cancellation policies, any mobility issues (steep stairs/steps, no elevator "lift", check in times 2-4pm check out times 10-11am, cash euros or credit card, fees, minimum stays, deposits, lots to look and think about
you're late for booking with it being tulip season, students getting out of school and more travelers now than ever. supply and demand nowdays plus prices skyrocket (not only amsterdam but all over the world). we had a fabulous times, just be aware of bikes bikes bikes everywhere, don't get run over or bumped into

put your dates in, #people to see what's available. instead of stressing out looking at everyone of the hotels/houseboats. have no clue what your budget is but just know amsterdam is very expensive. go out and have fun, enjoy. it's a beautiful place with many fun things to see and do besides museums and churches
