Does the card deduct the standard 2.90 fare when using AMS tram or bus or is there a discounted rate

The OV Chipkaart charges for the actual distance travelled. For the metro ride from Amsterdam Centraal to the Rijksmuseum, for example, the public transport planner 9292.nl shows a price of EUR 1,26.
