One hour transfer time in Amsterdam schiphol when returning to US...

I'll be flying Prague-Amsterdam-Atlanta, with only an hour in Amsterdam. I'll be in business, so that will expedite getting off the plane. Will I go through passport control and gate security? Anything else? And will I have enough time? Should I miss my flight, is klm obligated to get me in business on the next flight also? Thanks much!

You will go through passport control - leaving Schengen. No gate security, that will be in Prague. Delta/KLM will have to put you on the next available flight if you miss it because of delay. It used to be direct flight from Prague to Atlanta by Delta. (And also to JFK). Look at it if it's still the case. It would be better than changing planes in Amsterdam.

AMS is one of the better airports for connections and 60 minutes is a legal KLM connection. You will have a passport control check on leaving a Schengen country for a non-Schengen treaty country. I don't remember if there was a security check after the passport control check. Security changed in 2015: https://insideflyer.nl/schiphol-central-security/

Transferring at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

The standard transfer time at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to a flight
within Europe is 40 minutes and 50 minutes for an intercontinental
flight.

If you do not make your next flight because of a lack of time, you
will automatically be booked on another flight. Your baggage will be
relabelled and you will not have to retrieve it or check in for the
new flight. Your new flight details can be retrieved and you can print
out your new boarding pass at a kiosk.
