I will be visiting these two small towns in April as ancestors immigrated from there to the US. They are outside of Sittard in Limburg. Does anyone have any details about churches or cemeteries or historical places there? Or any other ideas for my visit there? I will be staying near Sittard and will have a car.

There is an online database for both cemeteries:

Here you can look up names etc. Only available in Dutch though.
Visit Maastricht, it's a beautiful city and one of the oldest in the Netherlands (30minutes by car). If you like zoos, visit Gaia Zoo in Kerkrade (voted the best in the Netherlands in 2018).
Cologne (Germany) is also close to Sittard (about 1.20h) and certainly worth a visit. If you rent a car and want to visit city centres in Germany, make sure it has a sticker (https://www.umwelt-plakette.de/en/information-about-german-environmental-badge/additional-information/validity-and-affixing.html )
