Either for later this year, but more than likely next year. I'd rather not use my credit card. For those in the know:
1) The anonymous chipkaart will be phased out by the end 0f 2027. Does this mean that the chipkaart will be good to use everywhere until the end of 2027, or will it stop working on certain trains and buses during the year?
2) I read on a blog that there will be an anonymous ov-pas, but cannot find any information on the official website to confirm this.
I have not seen any confirmation that there will be an anonymous pass. And to get the OV Pas you need to order it online, and have it send to your home address, which must be in the Netherlands.
It would not be the first time that the public transit sector completely forgot about the needs of foreign visitors when designing their system.
The good news is that they plan to finally get rid of the need to check-out and in again when changing between companies. That has always been the biggest misfeature in the system.
