Wanted to know if there are any night trains from amsterdam to zurich. and if yes what is the type of sleeping arrangement and the nigh reservation fee. Travelling with kids aged 8 years.
There is a train that travels overnight between Cologne and Basel, with connections on either end from Amsterdam and to Zurich, but they are regular trains without any sleeping accommodations.
There is no night train between Amsterdam & Zurich complete with sleeping compartments. There is one that runs overnight:
Amsterdam Centraal dep 18:16 ICE 251 Intercity-Express Direction: Frankfurt(Main)Hbf
Please reserve , Bordbistro
Köln Hbf arr 21:57 3
Transfer time 1:56 h
Köln Hbf dep 23:53 6 IC 209 Intercity Direction: Basel SBB
Basel SBB arr 06:22 10
Transfer time 11 min.
Basel SBB dep 06:33 8 IC 559 Intercity Direction: Chur
Reservation optional , business-compartment , Bordrestaurant , handy/quiet zones , parent-and-children compartment
Zürich HB arr 07:26 10
You can check pricing/purchase tickets here:
https://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query2.exe/en?protocol=https:&rt=1&
As you can see it may not be suited for traveling with children as there is a 2 hr stop in Koln from 10pm to midnight
The best (fastest, least changes) day train is - appx 8 hrs:
Amsterdam Centraal dep 08:02 7 ICE 105 Intercity-Express Direction: Basel SBB Bordbistro
Basel SBB arr 14:47 12
Transfer time 20 min.
Basel SBB dep 15:07 ICE 73 Intercity-Express Direction: Zürich HB Bordrestaurant
Zürich HB arr 16:00 11
For this trip with kids I would look at flying as well
Or take the 08:02 direct ICE from Amsterdam to Basel SBB (takes just 6:45) and make a simple connection in Basel (a beautiful city and a beautiful station in its own right).

You have a thru night train from Hamburg. This is one of the routes taken over last year from the German City Night Line by the Austrian Railways Nightjet.

Nice catch David.
You can see the different sleeping categories here:

If you want to leave as early as 1300 to catch that Austrian night train, you can leave Amsterdam Centraal 25 minutes later, with easy changes at Arnhem, Düsseldorf and Mannheim, and be at Zürich station by 10:00pm. Would you rather a hotel bed with a hotel breakfast or a train bed and a train breakfast?
I need a direct night connection between amsterdam n zurich.
Also is there a tgv or eurostar direct train between amsterdam and london
Unfortunately there is no direct night train from Amsterdam to Zurich - the one from Hamburg is your best option.
No direct train between London & Amsterdam - Eurostar to Brussels change to Thalys in Brussels for Amsterdam.
