My husband and I will be arriving in Amsterdam from Belgium on New Year's Eve. We will most likely be staying at the Rho Hotel. I would like some suggestions of a fun restaurant to try, maybe even something that includes dancing to ring in the New Year. We are in our early 40's, so we prefer something a little lower key than some of the major hot spots I have seen through my searches.
I have never visited Amsterdam in the winter, I would also like a few suggestions on activities for winter as well.

joanna - You are going to need to research and contact specific hotels about their New Year's Eve functions and secure reservations. We had thought about doing Boom Chicago for dinner/comedy show but changed our minds. There is a ton of stuff to do in Amsterdam and area. Rather than listing it out I am providing a link to my last winter's trip and restaurant reports. IAmsterdam is a good research site as well as Trip Advisor. Have a fabulous trip!
