Netherlands to Germany Itinerary suggestions

We are planning a Netherlands trip this summer (June-July).

Three weeks
Cities we want to see (or at least we think we want to see - open to suggestions)

Amsterdam
Utrecht
The Hague
Brugge
Brussels

German -- Open to a city that would be a good fit for our Netherlands visit. Frankfurt? Dusseldorf? Cologne. Suggestions?

Are we missing a must see city. I prefer the older parts of the city, quaint towns, etc. Not really interested in modern cities, have seen enough of those. Love the European feel.

Is the train to Frankfurt from Brussels a good option?
Any other suggestions. Right now, just in the rough planning stage. Decide where we want to go.

Thanks!

Delft is a charming little city and a great place to buy souvenirs!

Haarlem is another quaint place. They have the Corrie Ten Boom house, The Museum of Psychiatry, St Bavos Church, lovely canals and beach~ it should be on your must see list.

The Hague- personally I found it boring, but if you want to see it, you can easily do it in half a day or less. Viator offers some great day tours and have one that combines Delft, the Hague and Madurodam. Check it out online.

Other Netherlands places to see- Marken, where they make wooden shoes. Volendam is lovely and you should go see the windmills in Zaanse Schans.

Of course you could easily spend a week just in Amsterdam! There is so much to do and see. If you have the opportunity, look into renting a houseboat for all or part of your stay there.

Brussels and Bruges are both beautiful. If you can only make it to one, I suggest Bruges.

Have a great time planning your trip! I'll be back in Holland in May and can't wait to revist great places and explore new places I ran out of time for last time!

If you want old towns (I don't like the expression "European feel" as if the continent was a museum and skyscrapers, cars and high-tech didn't belong) in Netherlands, you should check places like: Zierikzee, Marken, Urk, Middelburg, maybe one of the Wadden Sea islands. of the tiny villages around the Veluwe National Park (don't be scared by the name, it is not really that big).
