Years ago while in Amsterdam I happened to hear trumpet music and started to walk toward the sound . There was a man in a boat , close to the Wester Tower , who played trumpet on the canal in a small boat . The Wester Tower carillon also played with this man . Does anyone know on which day of the week he plays there ? Thinking of taking grandkids to Amsterdam this June and I'm sure they would enjoy it as much as I did . I'd very much appreciate any info on days of performances . Thanks !

I don't think he has a schedule; it's hit or miss. I took this video of him mid-week in April a few years ago: https://youtu.be/TmQVE6Iwe10 near Waterlooplein.
I've visited Amsterdam over 20 times, passed over this bridge every trip and this is the one and only time I have spotted him:(

You were lucky that day! We were fortunate enough to see him on the Herengracht milling around with lots of other boats during Christmas. He was the only one playing tunes though. That is the only time we have seen him.

I saw him yesterday! He was doing a call & response with the Carillon. It was amazing.

Lucky you ! How he manages to play all the instruments is amazing . He and the carillon player are a real team !
